All content in the BeaconBee CMS system is contained within pages of different types. These are often called modules in other software. New page types are constantly being added to serve a specific purpose. The first design decision when creating a new website using BeaconBee CMS is to determine the most suitable page type for each of the pages of the new website.
There are two main types of pages, those with predefined fixed content items and addable pages which support the addition of new content items by the user.
All addable pages are presented as a categorised (see Liquid UI:Options or Standard UI:Options ) listing of available content sorted by default in reverse chronological order with the latest items appearing at the top unless the sorting criteria and order has been modified by the user and feature content managed introductory rich text block, built in automatic pagination and depending on your package a built in automatic RSS feed for content syndication.
When full text has been entered for a content item, a link to more details is automatically published to the website and when the user clicks on the link for one of the items from the list a detail page for the item selected is displayed including additional information, images, files and others as applicable for each page type. The same applies when content has been selected for featuring on the homepage and elsewhere on the website whereby the link to the item details page will only be displayed if the full text content is non-blank. This fact can be exploited for example to effectively create pages whose content is only ever featured on other pages but not displayed directly.
Use the guide below as a broad indicator of suitability, in some cases the best way to determine the best page type is through experimentation. More detailed coverage of the various options associated with each page is covered in Liquid UI:Site Tree or Standard UI:Site Tree .
