Form maker field types

The form maker page type supports a range of field types to solicit input from end users as well as display information and visual cues to assist them in supplying this information.

Field Description
Text This field can accommodate a single line of text up to 255 characters long.
Text area This field can accommodate large blocks of multiple line text.
Date This field expects a date and validates the input provided by the user to ensure it represents a date.
Email This field ensures the text entered by the user represents a valid email address format. Please keep in mind this does not necessarily mean what is provided is a valid and active email address, only that it looks like one.
Single select This field provides the user with a drop down list of options to select from. Only one option can be selected.
Multiple select This field provides the user with the ability to select more than of the options provided by pressing the Control or Command (or equivalent for their platform) while clicking on the options.
Checkboxes This field provides the user with a list of checkboxes, each of which is associated with one of the options available. The user may select one or more of the options by selecting the associated checkboxes.
Radio buttons This field provides the user with a list of radio buttons, each of which is associated with one of the options available. Only one of these options can be selected at any one time.
Heading This field allows you to insert a heading into the form. This field does not accespt user input but can be used to segment the form into multiple sections for example.
Introductory text This field allows you to enter rich text content to be displayed to the end user which may include instructions on how to fill in the form for example. This field does not accept user input.
Separator This field displays a visual separator between the fields above and below it and can be used to segment the form into multiple sections visually to help end users recognize when they move from one section to another. This field does not accept user input.
File upload This field allows users to upload a file as part of their form submission. You can add more than onse such field to your form and all files uploaded (if any) are combined in a zip file before being attached to the email sent to your nominated address. Please note that the files are not stored in the system and are discarded as soon as the email is sent and can not be retrieved from the database like you can with the other field data if you have that option enabled by your provider and package.
